Dragon_Eel

One of the cool things I like about this hobby is visiting the LFS (local fish stores) and just browsing the store and seeing some of the odditites that they get in.  Since I had some time off I got a chance to visit Nebraska Aquatic Supply.  Nebraska Aquatic Supply had recently advertised that they got in a dragon eel (pictured above).  Considering that these animals do not frequently come to the lfs in my area I had to go take a look and get some photos!

Although I don't currently have a system where an eel like this could thrive in my care seeing the dragon eel in person made it very tempting to take it home.  The bright colors as well as the strange pattern and the scarry looks give the dragon eel a lot of personality.  As long as I was at the store with my camera I went ahead and searched the tanks for any other oddities that you might not frequently see (or animals that just caught my eye ;) ).  Here are some of the photos I got:

This is just a sample of some of the fish I saw.  I need to make the rounds and add some photos from the other lfs in the area.  If you've got some good ones feel free to share!

Nice pics Skipper. One of my goals when I opened was to bring in fish and corals that aren't just the bread and butter stuff we have grown custom to seeing. There a lot of fish out there that I have always enjoyed seeing but wouldn't go well in my personal systems so I live vicariously through my store now and get to see all these beauties in person :cheer: . Its been the more enjoyable part of opening the store, going over the inventory lists and like a kid in a candy store I start making a list. I am excited about some fish direct from a collector in Mauritus where we will get some variants on some of the fish we see commonly like the Mauritian Coral Beauty and possibly some rarities like the Mauritian Clownfish and the Gem Tangs.
