Blastomussa

Since the first Pic of the Week was a repeat from earlier in the year, how about a bonus pic from the threads?  This is yet another fine example of what I believe is a Blastomussa sp.  Thanks to Vincejo28 for the image!

From LA:

"....these characteristics originally identified Wellsophyllia corals as separate from Trachyphyllia corals. This distinction is less commonly used now, and the Wellsophyllia Brain Coral is often referred to now as a Trachyphyllia radiata coral."

I don't know what a trach is but i think it looks like a wellso brain with some sand on it. I do have a hard time telling corals apart. It's kinda hard to gauge how big this coral is?? Help us out vincejo28...

Could be, tough to tell for me without seeing the full specimen. There are some pretty "open" morphs of blastos as well, and some not so round as most we see. But let's defer to the owner. Hey Vincejo28, can you give us the details on this lovely specimen? (PM Sent)
