It looks like we are losing another lfs. News like this is never fun to post, especially when the lfs is also a sponsor of this site, but it was confirmed today that Petland Omaha is going out of buisness. According to the employee I spoke with everything in the store is currently 50% off and the last day of operation is this Sunday. After Sunday anything that is left will go to an auction. There seems to be little information as to why the store is closing. The store was never up for sale as far as I know and the employee I spoke with didn't know why the current owner decided to call it quits. Either way if you need some supplies you might want to check out what is left.. Sorry to see you go Petland.
I loved our Petland! This breaks my heart. I noticed a post talking about how overpriced they were. I find this shocking. There prices were a good 20% less than fish stores in other states and were competitive with the local ones. They also had a bigger selection so if something went terrible wrong, they were just across town! They had a brilliant red Bowerbanki for only $160, I've never seen a similar one for less than $300 on any online retailer.
I will miss you Petland... much love! I got ALL my high end LPS gems there.
