They have a slime coating on them that protects it from stings as well as there symbiotic relationship

Yeah, I understand how clowns can live in anemone, I was just wondering what stopped the anemone from just opening its mouth when the clowns are about the same size as its mouth.

I think the anemone only eats when it stings something in its tenticles. If the clowns aren't getting sting it must not trigger it to feed

It's because the anemone doesn't even know they're there.
To them, clownfish just feel like another tentacle due to their slime coat.
