Preferred Nitrate test kit?

12

What is your preferred test-kit for Nitrates?

I have used API, and Salifert test kits before. I like the Salifert kit and it is head and shoulders above API when it comes to determining Nitrate levels under 10, but could still be a little easier to read (or I wish it was easier to read πŸ˜‰ ). I am asking because my Salifert test has expired and I need to buy another one, just wondering if I should stick with Salifert or try something else (Red Sea)?

Hach Spectrophotometer πŸ˜‰

I know you're a zoo guy now, but there is only room for one Diefenbaugh on the forum πŸ˜†

Sorry Jason you're out, I'm in. B)

Honestly though for home I would probably go with the Red Sea. I've heard good things but haven't tried it myself.

I was thinking of switching to red sea also.

Thanks :side:

I haven't ever tried any of Red Sea's kits so this seems like as good a time as any to give it a whirl πŸ˜‰

I have red sea Alk, mag, anc Ca kits and love them. Very easy to use and get a good reading on.

I picked up the Red Sea PRO Nitrate test kit and am very impressed! It has a I high and low range formula for testing, and has the best color comparison result finder I have ever seen (wheel) :woohoo:

Glad you found one you like.
