So the water finally cleared up and turned on the lights. Besides livestock nothing else survived the purge. Kind of frustrating knowing they were doing so well but hopefully it will be a good lesson for the wife (seahorselover). Thank you Courtney for getting this going, it has been fun and I'll continue to follow along.
That sucks πŸ™

You really think it's because she did a 50% water change? I'm not sure it should have that catastrophic a result, even with a newer tank.

Well Juice, when the contest is over let me know if you want a frag off mine. I will just have to figure out how to frag anything. πŸ™‚

Guaranteed. The tank was going just fine. Now with her stirring stuff up and who knows how the water is that she put in there. I've heard of tanks crashing when a water change hasn't been done in forever and you do one. So that is my main basis for the reason and I can't imagine anything else that would have caused it.

At least most fish are pretty hardy. I once moved a fish to a different tank and accidentally put him in the wrong acclimation bucket- one with straight r/o water that was about 15 degrees colder than the tank. I realized it about 5 minutes later, but he made it through alright and is still alive today. We all make our mistakes, some more costly than others.

I'm Glad everyone is having a good time. Thanks to Adam (New to This) for the idea!

Yeah it's just a learning lesson. We've pretty much all been there and now she just gets to learn from it.

Courtney, thank you for tracking growth! Its a huge help πŸ™‚

Not a problem, just a shame I'm not still in it.
