Going to Orlando, FL this weekend

Hey I'm looking for places to go in Orlando, Fl this next week. I leave Saturday and get back the following Friday, so I will have a couple days in there to "venture".

We're renting a car, so we can travel within reason...

Me and the wife want to go snorkeling, so first off we want to know a good place to snorkel. I'd like to find a good coral reef to check out.

Is there any good LFS's down there or other aquaculture places I can check out?

Also, any other non-aquatic places I should check out, please let me know! We'll be down there a week and are spending 2 days at Universal Studios and another day at the water park, but will need something aquatic to get my reef nerd on!

You're not gonna find many reefs near Orlando, unfortunately.
The reefs real good reefs start down in key west.
Kissimmee has places to snorkel. but that doesn't mean the snorkeling wouldn't be awesome!
Rays, manatee, sharks, snapper and grouper would be a lot of what you'd see.

You could always go to discovery cove :p

I used to live west of Orlando on the gulf in north port.
Venice has some ship wrecks.
If you want to make the drive, key largo and key west are awesome for snorkeling!

The area off of SW Florida has some nice areas, theres quite a few shipwrecks. If you go around there, check out the USS Mohawk dive site, its a sunken ship in honor of the WW2 vets, inhabited by goliath groupers!! Lots of artificial reefs down there.
